Chinese Broccoli

Ingredients

1 lb. Chinese broccoli, trimmed
2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
2 tsp. soy sauce
¼ tsp. Chinese five-spice powder
⅓ cup roasted soy nuts or peanuts, crushed

Method

Place a steamer basket over a pot filled with 2 inches of boiling water. Steam the broccoli until the stems are just tender, about 4 – 5 minutes. Transfer to a platter.

Discard the water. Add the butter, soy sauce, five-spice powder, and 2 teaspoons of water to the pot, stirring over medium heat until butter has melted.

Drizzle sauce over the broccoli, top with nuts, and serve.
