Apple Bread

From

Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Grease a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan.

Ingredients

½ cup oil
2 eggs
¾ cup sugar
1½ cups flour
1¼ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. nutmeg
2 cups apple, peeled coarsely chopped
½ cup walnuts, chopped

Method

This moist bread is made with raw apple. If you’re tired of banana or pumpkin break, try it for a nice change. Cortland apples hold their shape best, but other varieties, with the exception of tart green ones, are good as well.

Using an electric mixer, beat the oil, eggs, and sugar together until thoroughly blended. Sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg together and stir into the egg mixture. Add the apple and nuts. Place in the prepared pan and bake at 350ºF for approximately 50 minutes.
