4 medium, ripe tomatoes
2/3 cups green pepper
1 cup butter
2/3 cup bread crumbs
salt and pepper to taste

Saute:
Peel and slice 1/3” thick4 medium, ripe tomatoes
set aside, chop green pepper and onion sautein butter
When soft, stir in bread crumbs
Mix well
In a well buttered, deep 1 1/2 quart casserole, layer tomato slices sprinkled with crumb mixture in 4 layers ending with crumbs. Lightly salt and pepper tomato slices as you layer.
Bake at 350*F 35 to 45 minutes until tomatoes are cooked.
